My name is Don Damborg, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in Colorado Springs and a former Marriage Intensive Therapist with Focus on the Family’s “Hope Restored”® program.
I specialize in working with couples and marriages and for the past 15 years I have specialized in marriage and family therapy.
Using the time-tested and highly effective Focus on the Family® model of marriage therapy, along with an integration of the most research-based and effective martial therapies available, I help couples repair their relationship and start connecting again.
I give couples the tools to effectively express their needs, be understood, and then feel heard, loved, and respected, so that they can start being the couple they desire to be – more connected, intimate, and working together as a team.
I effectively help couples get out of the “crazy cycle” of communication, in which each person tries to communicate and be understood, but negative emotions and damaging reactions get in the way – and such communication just causes more pain and conflict in the relationship!
My approach is to help couples relate in a much better way – effectively communicating and understanding one another so that they can truly connect and have the relationship they deeply desire.
I also work with married couples who are separated and/or on the brink of divorce, and I work with relationships that may be complicated by factors involving infidelity, substance abuse, pornography, anger, sexual difficulties, or past trauma or abuse.
I also specialize in working with remarried couples and blended families.
